MLLP member Pau Baquero Arnal defended successfully his PhD thesis on “Transformer models for Machine Translation and Streaming Automatic Speech Recognition” at Universitat Politècnica de València on 25 April 2023.
The MLLP’s candidature to European Parliament call for tenders EP/TRAD/2019/LSTT “Live Speech to Text and Machine Translation Tool for 24 Languages” obtained a strong rating and was ranked sixth, close to the five shortlisted candidatures by large EU and US tech consortia and organizations.
MLLP members are this week at ACL 2019 in Florence, and will present at the Fourth Conference in Machine Translation (WMT19) their most recent Neural Machine Translation systems for EN<>DE, FR<>DE and ES<>PT. In particular, our Spanish<>Portuguese systems have won WMT19’s Similar Language Translation shared task. Come see us at the conference!
The MLLP will be at the Third Conference in Machine Translation (WMT18), part of the EMNLP 2018 conference (Brussels, 31 October–4 November). We will present our article describing the German→English neural machine translation system with which we have ranked among the best in WMT18’s news translation shared task.
