Online magazine Panorama Audiovisual recently published a report with up-to-date information on the R&D project by the Valencian public broadcaster À Punt and the Universitat Politècnica de València’s VRAIN-MLLP research group in which streaming and offline speech-to-text are being applied for computer-assisted subtitling of live and pre-recorded broadcast media.
Public broadcaster Corporació Valenciana de Mitjans de Comunicació (À Punt) signed today an agreement with the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) for the development and deployment of live automatic subtitling technology in À Punt’s programmes, to be led by the MLLP research group of VRAIN Institut Valencià d’Intel·ligència Artificial.
The MLLP’s candidature to European Parliament call for tenders EP/TRAD/2019/LSTT “Live Speech to Text and Machine Translation Tool for 24 Languages” obtained a strong rating and was ranked sixth, close to the five shortlisted candidatures by large EU and US tech consortia and organizations.
MLLP members travelled to the European Parliament in Brussels on 4 September to make a presentation on our most recent technology for multilingual real-time speech-to-text. See here our demo videos.
