Several international organizations have signed in the last few months contracts for automatic multilingual subtitling services with the MLLP, including the Hasso Plattner Institut (Potsdam, Germany).
The MLLP is a partner in the new EU innovation project X5gon (2017–2020), which was approved with top marks by the European Commission earlier this year. MLLP members were present at the X5gon kick-off meeting in Ljubljana on 20–21 September.
MLLP member Juan Daniel Valor Miró defended successfully today his PhD thesis “Evaluation of innovative computer-assisted transcription and translation strategies for video lecture repositories” at the Universitat Politècnica de València’s Dept. of Computer Systems and Computation (DSIC).
The MLLP delivered a presentation on automatic multilingual subtitling of MOOCs and OER at the 2nd World OER Congress under the patronage of UNESCO (Ljubljana, Slovenia, 18–20 September 2017). Read here all about it.
