Members of ATiT (Belgium) and the Universitat Politècnica de València’s MLLP group were in Graz (Austria) on 22–24 February representing the EU project EMMA at the European MOOCs Stakeholders Summit EMOOCs 2016. They participated in the panel “European support services for developing MOOCs”. Find here their impressions and their full presentation.
EMOOCs 2016, the 4th European MOOCs Stakeholders Summit, was held on 22–24 February 2016 in Graz (Austria). Organised by the University of Graz and Graz University of Technology, the event was an opportunity to gather worldwide actors involved in the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) phenomenon, from policy makers to practitioners and researchers. The conference included four tracks: the Research Track, the Experience Track, the Institutional & Corporate Track and a special Flipped Conference MOOC-Track.
ATiT‘s Sally Reynolds and the MLLP’s Gonçal Garcés contributed to the Institutional Track in the panel session “European support services for developing MOOCs“, as representatives of the EU project EMMA. In this panel, representatives from seven different MOOC-related projects showed already available services to develop MOOCs at low cost, pedagogical models, translation services, training to develop MOOCs, and business models for institutions, also in relation to sustainability after project lifetime. In particular, the MLLP shared their experience on automatic transcription and translation technologies for MOOCs.
You can find here our to-the-point 3-slide EMMA support services presentation for EMOOCs 2016, including a 1-slide summary of the MLLP’s automatic transcription and translation technologies for MOOCs. You can also read at the EMMA website a brief summary of the panel session.
The MLLP was very pleased to participate with ATiT in EMOOCs 2016. We wish the best to our colleagues at Carlos III University of Madrid for the organization of EMOOCs 2017, to which we look forward to.
