Former MLLP member Miguel Á. del Agua Teba defended successfully today his PhD thesis on “Contributions to Efficient Automatic Transcription of Video Lectures” at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
MLLP members are this week at ACL 2019 in Florence, and will present at the Fourth Conference in Machine Translation (WMT19) their most recent Neural Machine Translation systems for EN<>DE, FR<>DE and ES<>PT. In particular, our Spanish<>Portuguese systems have won WMT19’s Similar Language Translation shared task. Come see us at the conference!
The MLLP research group has joined efforts with 5 other research groups on machine learning and artificial intelligence at Universitat Politècnica de València to create vrAIn, the Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
A new MLLP research project, “Multisub: Multilingual subtitling of classrooms and plenary sessions” (2019–2021), has been selected by the Government of Spain for funding under the 2018 Research Challenges call of the Societal Challenges R&D&I Programme 2017–2020.
